*Bay Area Dreaming*

I took an extended weekend trip down to the Bay Area. I kinda have this dream of moving to Cali at some point in my twenties so this trip was all about exploring the different areas! I have spent quite a bit of time in San Fran in the past two years, absolutely love it but I don't want to live in the city per se. So far I'm totally in love with the Mill and Tam Vally, 20mins from the city, 10 mins away from hwy 1's sweeping ocean views and 5mins from spectacular Mt. Tamp, plus a great hippie town vibe, it could definitely work for me.

San Fran has some of the most amazing old architecture-

The Pacific Ocean- hwy 1

The Pacific- 15mins from Half Moon Bay

More of the Pacific-

My ride- I was supposed to get a Hyundai but somehow I lucked out and got an upgrade!

Late nights in the hotel room.

Tired after long days-

Looking out my window- Inner City Pressure:)

Coming home looks like this.

*thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.*

"In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. In the end, maybe it's wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices."
Elizabeth Gilbert
The first time I read the above passage in Eat, Pray, Love, I immediately thought of my mom. Simply and entirely she has given me possibilities to live in a way I wouldn't have imagined before now. To the woman who has taught me to laugh at myself, use big words and dream even bigger dreams, I am forever grateful!

*that you haven't yet laughed, all that you'll laugh*

I get notes from the universe five days a week. This was one of my favorites so far!

Maria, isn't it nice to know that you haven't yet laughed, all that you'll laugh? That you haven't yet met, some of your very best friends? And that you haven't yet dreamed, all that you'll manifest?

That all bridges will be mended? That all sadness will be healed? And that life never ends?

That all of your challenges will be won? That all of your triumphs will be shared? And that the difference you'll make, has already begun?

Well, it is for me, because I also know that if you don't see these things yet, you will.

Could it get any better?

Finding my sowing ground…..

“Though fairy tales end after ten pages, our live do not. We are multi-volume sets. In our lives, even though one episode amounts to a crash and burn, there is always another episode awaiting us and then another. There are always more opportunities to get it right, to fashion our lives in the ways we deserve to have them.”

“…remember, at bottom is where the living roots of psyche are. It is there that a woman’s wild underpinnings are. At bottom is the best soil to sow and grow something new again. In that sense, hitting bottom, while extremely painful, is also the sowing ground.”

and more shots from the road........

See, I know how to smoke a pipe:)

One of the most important stops of our trip- Cheese Board in Berkeley!

The Getty, best place to visit when you're in LA, really, really worth it!

If I lived in LA this would be my place to go relax.

Justin and our German friend Thomas who was staying in the same hostel and went with us to Berkeley, (this was a late night out on the town, I wasn't there, go figure when it comes to the expressions, i'm confused;).
And, well, this is just frightening!

My passenger and the man with the music- kept me in good spirits with good tunes.

Visiting our segal friends at Pismo beach.

Stopping at our favorite Mexican food spot at Pismo.

Enjoying my control as driver!

Jalama Beach!

Jalama Beach is about 30 mins from Santa Barbara;
it is well worth the drive down the windy roads.

The drive was spectacular, word has it that the road is used for car commercials, I can see why, it was absolutely beautiful!

You drive through the hills for quite some time and then all of a sudden the road opens to a spectacular view of Jalama beach.

The burgers they sell at the non-descript Jalama Beach Store are made from grass fed beef! The burgers are very big, full of flavor and reasonably priced ($5.75).

Happy cows grazing the day away.

My burger craving is well satisfied for the next 6 months. This will definitely be a regular stop whenever I’m in the area.

PS: Thanks Crystal Barker for the recommendation!
